Defender Bar started with a simple realization: we’re not 25 anymore—but we’re still moving, climbing, lifting, hiking, parenting, and doing everything life throws at us. The difference now? We care more about how we fuel ourselves.

As longtime friends and active dads, we went looking for a bar that matched our lifestyle—something clean, satisfying, and made with ingredients that actually support how we feel, not just how we perform. But most bars out there were either loaded with sugar, empty calories, or too processed to trust. So we made our own.

Each Defender Bar is built around a powerful core: chia, flax, and hemp seeds for lasting energy, plus psyllium husk for fiber and gut health—because feeling good starts from the inside out. Then we layered in real flavors you’ll actually crave: Cinnamon Churro Oatmeal, Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.

  • Matt heads up flavor and product innovation at Defender, driven by one goal: making bars that taste delicious and actually do something for you. He’s still skiing hard, climbing, and staying active with his kids—but the way he fuels that lifestyle has changed. Defender reflects that shift—more intention, fewer compromises. He’s especially proud of the Cinnamon Churro Oatmeal bar, which took serious R&D to get just right. When he’s not testing new recipes, he’s out on the slopes, at the climbing gym, or chasing adventures with his family.

  • Tom focuses on the Defender brand marketing, making sure Defender connects with people who, like him, are still moving hard through life—but doing it with a little more intention. As a dad of three, he knows firsthand how hard it can be to juggle early workouts, busy mornings, and packed weekends without crashing or grabbing something processed. Defender started as a way to bridge that gap. Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip is his go-to—it’s fuel that tastes good and keeps him steady through a long day of family, adventure, and everything in between.

  • Scott keeps Defender’s operations running smoothly, from sourcing clean ingredients to ensuring every production run delivers on quality. With three kids of his own, he’s no stranger to full schedules and fast mornings—and he built Defender with that rhythm in mind. He’s passionate about creating a product that helps people feel good while staying connected to what matters: health, family, and real life. His favorite flavor? Peanut Butter Chocolate.
